What got you into your current profession as an Acupuncturist?

My journey into acupuncture began with trying it for my own self-care as a teenager, experiencing firsthand its positive impact on my mental health and overall wellbeing. I have been interested in complementary medicine since then and learnt about a variety of different modalities relating to mental, physical and metaphysical aspects of health. While learning Thai massage, I was introduced to 'sen' lines along the body which are similar to acupuncture meridian lines and this inspired me to pursue acupuncture & Chinese medicine. This field of medicine resonates with me because it looks at the whole picture of a person's health as well as the impact of lifestyle and environment. I also love that it is gentle and can be used alongside other therapies for so many ailments.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy going bush walking, playing volleyball, meditation and spending time with loved ones. I also like to travel, learn about different cultures and am currently doing training in Shamanism.

What is your advice for anyone embarking on a health journey?

Be kind to your self, healing and change can sometimes take time.

Notice how you feel and check in with yourself after engaging with different activities, environments or foods. Just noticing can bring about change.
